The SBTG DMV Way

An active outreach and mentoring program for reentry and underserved communities. Assists individuals reentering society after incarceration or facing other barriers, such as economic disadvantage, education, or lack of access to resources. Our program provides support, guidance, and mentorship to help these individuals reintegrate into their communities and achieve positive outcomes.

"Sista's Bridging the Gap" ("SBTG") seeks to empower returning citizens and underserved communities, create opportunities for growth and success, and promote a more inclusive and just society. By addressing the challenges faced by individuals reintegrating into society, the program contributes to the overall well-being of communities and fosters positive change in the lives of its participants.

Professional Services

For returning citizens acquiring, developing, and enhancing professional skills can be a transformative process that brings numerous benefits to a person's reintegration journey. These skills open up new avenues of employment and career opportunities, providing a fresh start and a chance to rebuild their lives. 
Digital Education & Access
Our introductory technology class equips participants with essential skills that enhance their personal and professional lives, opening up a world of opportunities in the digital age. It empowers them to stay connected, be more productive, and thrive in an increasingly technology-driven society.

Technology

 Information Technology and Artificial Intelligence can equip individuals with the tools to secure stable and fulfilling jobs, reducing the likelihood of recidivism and first-time offending and promoting financial independence.
Life Skills
Our workshops provide individuals real-life experiences in various areas, allowing them to decide what is in their best interest.  These workshops include in-depth introductions, hands-on demonstrations, and follow-on instructions.

Improves communication and interpersonal skills that help rebuild positive relationships with family members, friends, and the community.  Understanding and empathy lead to healthier interactions and support networks.​

Education

Our licensed and experienced educators provide our educational services to empower our individuals to improve their lives by reinforcing their academic posture and professional skills to obtain gainful employment. 
Apprenticship
Apprenticeship readiness provides awareness and professional development in a skilled industry of interest. Employers recognize this dedication, which can give candidates a hiring edge.

Speaking Engagements

Through many speaking engagements, the Sista’s serve as advocates and provide visibility for those unnoticed by society. They speak to encourage those who have lost all hope and inspire them to succeed after hardships and prison on how to break the cycle and not become a recidivism statistic.
